The Help
As the women's stories emerge, what examples of suffering do we see?
We see a lot of suffering from the black people, as the white people had a lot of control over money and society. Therefore they were able to control the black society, the white people had the black women as their maids and treated them poorly. These poor women had no say in anything over white people, but likely with the help of Skeeter they are able to speak there minds.
How did the women respond to this? Give some examples.
The respond from Skeeter and the help was of an uprising. However they were not allowed to express this to public manner due to the amounts of violence and aggressive tension between the societies.
What part did their Christian faith play?
Their Christian faith played a strong role in the movie, as the women would attend church regularly and pray for peace and justice for the suffering of the black society.
How did you respond to the issues raised in the movie?
I responded in a really emotional way as it was very cruel and unfair of how the black society was treated by the white people.
